To join the MTOC Forum as a member you need to Register. For this you will need a current active email address. Once you have completed the registration process you will be sent an activation email which contains a hyperlink to allow you to login on the forum.
If you have registered for the forum and have not received a registration confirmation email the first thing you should do is choose the 'resend' option when you try and login. If this doesn't work then contact the Administrator using the methods on the [Contact] page. It can be common for people to mis-spell their own email or not to check their anti-spam folders. An email address can only be used for a single username, so double-check your spelling when you register.
All users of the forum are assigned a default avatar when they become members. This is part of the board settings. The only members who may customise their avatar are those belonging to either the Sponsors or Moderators usergroups.
To become a member of the Sponsors usergroup just use the Paypal button on the left-hand side of the website to make a donation and keep the place running. There is no specific amount required, just donate what you feel you can without any detriment to yourself or your family. You may find that the forum is so useful that you wish to donate further, in which case just use the same Paypal button. Don't forget to annotate the Paypal comments [+] box with your forum username so as I know which donation belongs to which member.
Moderators are individuals (or groups of individuals) who look after the forums from day to day. They have the authority to edit or delete posts and lock, unlock, move, delete and split topics in the forum they moderate. Generally, moderators are present to prevent users from going off-topic or posting abusive or offensive material. Moderators are chosen by the site administrator. They are usually sponsors and are highly active within the MTOC community forum. Only a few members ever become Moderators.
